All that's really important
to know is that I love God,

x-men vs. superman: who is the supreme superhero?
(5.25) X-Men make their "last stand" in theaters today while Superman "returns" June 30. This will, of course, reignite the debate over who is the supreme superhero.
Here's my pick

thanks to american idol, gray hair rocks!
(5.24) Finally, an American Idol winner I can relate to! Taylor Hicks, 29, is slightly pudgy, working on a double chin, doesn’t take himself too seriously and—this is the best part—has gray hair! In fact, GQ, the chronically cool men’s mag, claims that “Gray is the new black.”

da vinci code leaps over the hedge
(5.22) The so-called "other-cott" apparently failed with DVC taking in 77 million opening weekend—40 million more than the Dreamworks animated feature. The popularity of Dan Brown’s book and, now, movie—which claims Christ is not divine—should come as no surprise . . .
Here's my theory

decifering the da vinci code
Unless you're secretly buried under the Louvre, you know that Dan Brown's kabillion-selling novel, The Da Vinci Code, is now playing at a theater near you.

why are so many picking on Jesus?
(5.03) First, The Da Vinci Code claimed Christ was a mere mortal who married Mary Magdalene. Then on 06/06/06 (666), Hollywood's The Beast will claim that Jesus Christ never existed at all. He's a complete myth.
Here's my theory why so many are picking on Jesus
(5.09) The Jesus Papers joins the attack [Christianity Today]

living in the gap
(5.21) Are you between jobs or relationships? Maybe you're dealing with a gap in your health. Gaps are inevitable in life, so here are some thoughts about living in the gap:

paul and heather's breakup: love is not all you need
It's always a tragedy when a marriage breaks up. Here are some thoughts as the ex-Beatle and Mrs. McCartney separate . . .

third duke lacrosse player indicted on rape charges
(5.15) So, it's time again for my spiel on why the suspects, as well as the names of the victims, should be withheld until the conclusion of the trial . . .

nsa debate: privacy vs. protection
(5.12) With the revelations that the National Security Agency has been tracking US citizen's calling patterns, once again the debate pits privacy (and the Fourth Ammendment) against protection from terrorist bent on another attack on American soil. I wrote about the conflict just two months after 9/11.

PROUD GRANDMA AND ONE YEAR-OLD GRANDSON, MICAH GABRIAL

grandson, micah, turns 1
(5.14) Sunday, we not only celebrated Mothers' Day at Paul and Amy's new home, but grandson Micah's first birthday. This is the first time since Christmas 2001 that so many Watkins have gotten together: Great-Grandma and Great-Grandpa, Uncle Tom, Aunt Faith (Uncle Mike was on patrol for disoderly Mother's Day celebrations), cousin Hannah, Micah's parents Paul and Amy, and Grandma and Grandpa. driving faster, cheaper than flying
(5.09) Airline pricing and flight schedules are calculated by chimpanzees. (And I'm sure I hear a roulette wheel spin whenever I call for prices.) So, despite the hysteria over gas prices, it's often cheaper to pile into the minivan rather than the flying thermos bottles.
